The materials contained in this collection were gathered from numerous sources over the years by the WSU Vancouver Library. The overall theme of the collection is the history of higher education in Southwest Washington used for documenting the establishment of WSU Vancouver as a four year university. Items include a brief by the Four Year College Association dated 1966 and a brief for the State of Washington to locate its next four year college. Other information includes the Southwest Washington Joint Center for Education planning for higher education, formation of the WSU Vancouver Advisory Council and founding legislation for the establishment of Southwest Washington Joint Center for Education and the WSU Vancouver branch campus.
