Abstract
Video presentations on tax initiatives that would have an effect on State spending at public universities. The Washington Tax and Spending Limits Initiative, also known as Initiative 601, was on the November 2, 1993 ballot in Washington as an Initiative to the People, where it was approved, but later overturned. The measure would have limited state expenditures by inflation rates and population growth and would have required a referendum for taxes exceeding the limit. The Washington Tax and Spending Limits Initiative, also known as Initiative 602, was on the November 2, 1993 ballot in Washington as an Initiative to the People, where it was defeated. The measure would have limited state revenue collections and expenditures on personal income. TRT: 00:16:45.
