Abstract

Agendas and meeting minutes from the Associated Students of Washington State University Vancouver (ASWSUV) senate dated 2004-2010. The date range of this collection covers records from the 14th ASWSUV senate through nineteenth ASWSUV senate with only a few dated minutes from the 16th ASWSUV senate.

Arrangement

The records are contained in one document box and arranged in filing folders by date. The collection is broken up into series chronologically by senate number, beginning with the 14th senate and ending with the closing minutes of the 19th senate.

Further records from ASWSUV can be found in the UA-WSUV-2017-007 accession, which includes senate minutes from the 24th, 25th and 26th senate dated from 2014-2017.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The ASWSUV senate records arrived in the Archives as a separate grouping of miscellaneous materials intermixed in a filing cabinet stored in the attic of the VDEN (Dengerink Building formerly known as the Administration Building) in 2015. The ASWSUV senate records were later identified and arranged as a collection and processed as accession UA-WSUV-2019-005 in 2019.

Bibliography

The Associated Students of Washington State University Vancouver (ASWSUV) was officially established as the governing student body in the Spring of 1990. According to ASWSUV's Spring 2019 website, ASWSUV works "to create an engaging student life on campus and to represent and advocate for student needs." The ASWSUV senate is an elected body consisting of eleven representatives. Student government also consists of an elected executive branch with appointed staff, an elected judical and a Student Activities Board that coordinates programs around entertainment, education and recreational interests.
