Biographical / Historical
The HR Society was established to foster the professional development of students pursuing Human Resources careers in personnel administration, hiring, training, compensation and benefits as well as employee and labor relations. The group’s mission is to foster an inclusive environment to empower, educate and engage the members of the HR society. The HR Society promotes opportunities for internships and career as well as degree path mentorship. They are affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) through sponsorship by the Southwest Washington Human Resource Management Association (SWHRMA), the SHRM chapter.

Abstract
There are 19 folders with documents containing agendas and meeting minutes for HR Society weekly meetings from the 2016-2017 school year. Agenda items include ideas for events, membership dues and different areas of HR including recruiting and staffing, benefits, compensation, employee relations, HR compliance, organizational design, training and development, Human Resource Information Systems (H.R.I.S.) and payroll. The donation was received as part of a Diversity Council grant project conducted by the WSU Vancouver Library to encourage representation of diversity from student organizations and to document diverse groups as part of campus culture and history.

The collection was donated by the HR Society. The donation was part of a Diversity Council grant project, which focused on outreach to student clubs for inclusion in the campus archives. The collection was received in 2017 (UA-WSUV-2017-003).
