Scope and Contents

The materials in this collection were used to promote various IMA/BAP events for the campus community as well as document meetings and activities during the 2015-2017 school years. The collection includes event flyers, meeting agendas and minutes, IMA/BAP competition reports, BAP regional scripts, IMA/BAP Constitution and IMA/BAP trifolds.

Biographical / Historical

IMA/BAP at WSU Vancouver is an honor society that promotes the objectives of two professional organizations: The Institute of Management Accountants and Beta Alpha Psi. IMA’s mission is to provide a forum for research, practice development, education, knowledge sharing, and the advocacy of the highest ethical and best business practices in management accounting and finance.

BAP is an honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals. Their primary objective is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance, and information systems. They also provide opportunities for self-development, service, and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.

IMA/BAP at WSU Vancouver caters to students seeking to develop careers in Accounting, Finance, and/or Information Systems, as well as provides them with unique opportunities to connect with professionals in the business community. Through their partnership with BAP the organization emphasizes continuous self-development and instills a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility. They are dedicated to community service and the development of professional programs, and they participate in national competitions. They have maintained the status of being a Superior Chapter with BAP for several years, and were recognized as the 2011-2012 Club of the Year at WSU Vancouver. Their involvement with IMA provides them with a forum for research, educational development, and advocacy of the highest ethical and business practices in management accounting and finance.

Abstract

Files documenting IMA/BAP events during the 2015-2017 school years. Materials include event flyers, meeting minutes, IMA/BAP constitution, 2016-2017 IMA/BAP competition report; BAP regionals script; flyers for a 2017 Fisher Investments tour, an IMA/BAP Constitution, and 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 Trifolds. The donation was received as part of a Diversity Council grant project conducted by the WSU Vancouver Library to encourage representation of diversity from student organizations and to document diverse groups as part of campus culture and history. Part of the UA-WSUV.2017.005 accession.

Arrangement

The collection is arranged in folders by type. Meeting minutes are organized in separate folders by school year. The files are in digital format and arranged on CD and in cloud storage.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The collection was donated by student representatives of the WSU Vancouver IMA/BAP. The donation was part of a Diversity Council grant project, which focused on outreach to student clubs for inclusion in the campus archives. The collection was received in 2017 (UA-WSUV-2017-005).
