Biographical / Historical
The WSU Vancouver Accessibility Council is established to help lead, facilitate, and promote an accessibility friendly campus for people with disabilities and those who identify as disabled. The council is in place to help assure that individuals and groups have equivalent access for participation in campus activities, services and programs. The council consists of a diverse cross-section of faculty, staff, students, and administrators with the aim of addressing areas like physical facilities access, construction, accessible technology, curricular and universal design, and event accessibility

Accessibility Council
This folder contains meeting minutes, notes, and materials presented in meetings for the WSU Vancouver Accessibility Council mostly dated between 2016 and 2017. 21 items.
Accessibility Work Group Recommendations
This folder contains official recomendations reached by the Accessibility Council. It includes the executive summary of the recommendations, a full-length recommendation document and also a table of contents and cover page. 4 items.
Captioning and Other Accesibility
This folder contains contents relating to captions, transcriptions, screen readers, and other assistive technologies considered useful to students. It contains both explanation of why captions can be helpful and documentation from software/platforms used by WSU Vancouver students on how to take advantage of accessibility functionality. 9 items.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The digital files were transfered to the Archives on behalf of Sue Phelps, Librarian from the WSU Vancouver Library. Phelps served on the Accessibility Council until her retirement in 2019. The collection was accessioned as UA-WSUV-2019-010 and is located as a part of the Digital Records (DR).
