Biographical / Historical
Washington State University Vancouver was established in 1989. Its campus was originally located in Bauer Hall at Clark College. Site selection to accommodate the anticipated growth of the new campus started in 1990. In 1992, WSU Vancouver's present location in Salmon Creek was selected as its new home. The original 1992 WSU Vancouver Campus Master Plan provides a guideline for the orientation and form of new campus facilities in the earlist days of the campus. In 2007, revisions in the master plan attempted to establish a baseline for continued growth of the campus over the next two decades. In 2018, updates to the campus master plans included recommendations for the location of a new Student Union Building and the potential establishment of student housing.
