Scope and Contents
The collection contains document drafts and formal publications of plans and results from WSU vancouver strategic planning efforts. The date range of materials is primarily from 2014 to 2021 with the addition of some earlier dated materials used in the development of later documents. Aside from strategic planning drafts, the collection contains survey results and other data accumulated and used in the strategic planning process during the periods between 2016 and 2021. The materials in this collection are primarily in PDF format with one copy of a planning draft in DOCX format.

Biographical / Historical
The WSU Vancouver Strategic Plan entails specific goals and objectives that support the overall vision of the campus. As stated in a draft of the 2021-2026 strategic plan, the vision of "Washington State University Vancouver will be a positive force in bettering the lives of the people of Southwest Washington and beyond by contributing outstanding research; expanding access to the highest-quality university education where student success is central; and engaging with community partners to address the needs of our changing world." To fulfill this vision campus administration and departments routinely evaluate and amend the strategic plan in response to the changing needs of students and the surrounding community.

Abstract
The collection consists of digital files containing drafts of WSU Vancouver strategic planning documents and publications for 2016-2021 and 2021-2026. The collection includes copies of the campus climate survey and information on student enrollment, retention, and graduation used for developing campus goals and objectives. The documents in the collection provide an overview of efforts toward equity and diversity on campus while fulfilling WSU Vancouver’s mission of teaching, research, and service.
Arrangement
The collection is arranged in a series of four directories. These are as follows: Strategic Planning 2016-2021, Strategic Planning 2021-2026, Campus Climate Survey, and Persistence and Graduation Update.
The 2016-2021 Strategic Planning documents include drafts of goals and objectives, an overview of the strategic plan, and a copy of the 2011-2016 strategic plan used by the Strategic Planning Committee.
The 2021-2026 Strategic Planning documents include strategic plan survey results, a draft of the plan, and an updated version of the plan.
The Campus Climate Survey includes results collected from 2011 to 2020, which were used to gauge and evaluate campus equity and diversity initiatives. The documents offer a context for the goals and objectives developed in strategic planning.
Information pertaining to the Persistence and Graduation Update documents concern WSU Vancouver enrollment, retention, and graduation rates. The series contains updates from 2015 and from 2017 to 2020. The documents were used as additional information for developing strategic plans.
The order of files in each directory is arranged by the original file name.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Documents and publications in this collection were accumulated by the Archives and Special Collections over time from numerous sources on campus. The primary source of aquisition is from the Office of the Chancellor, the Office of Academic Affairs, and the Office of Equity and Diversity. The collections was originally accessioned as UA-WSUV-2023-006.
