The Assembled Collection of Washington State University Vancouver Digital Publications was established in 2018 to formalize the management of born-digital materials produced by various campus departments and organizations. While the collection was officially arranged and described in 2018, its custodial roots extend back to the start of the Archives and Special Collections’ operations in 2006. Throughout this period, the archives served as a proactive repository, accumulating digital files from a wide range of sources to ensure their long-term preservation. The specific materials within the collection, with the earliest dates beginning in 1999, reflect a varied history of physical and digital transfer. Many files were acquired through direct departmental transfers or donated by individuals, often requiring the recovery of data from legacy media such as CDs and floppy disks. Other publications were systematically harvested from the campus website or captured from email distributions. This history of continuous accumulation ensures that both defunct and active publications are preserved within a unified finding aid, which remains open for the integration of future acquisitions.
