Biographical / Historical

The WSU Vancouver 25th Anniversary Celebration Committee assembled in the Spring of 2014 to plan activities commemorating a quarter century of history and progress at WSU Vancouver. The committee's focus included a student-based project to create an augmented reality timeline and displays. Paid scholarships were provided to students to compile content and compose an augmented reality product used through a mobile device application (Aurasma). The content for this project drew from a wide range of sources on campus that icluded images from the Archives collections, the Office of Marcketing and Communications and other departments. The augmented reality included a blend of audio, video and photographic imaergry. In addition to this feature, the committee also planned a physical exhibit for display in the Library and a digital time capsule containing content from the two featured projects with additional photos captured during the 25th anniversary celebration. The time capsule was based on themes from the augmented reality project and Library exhibit, which highlight research, student life, community and other aspects of campus culture.
