The interviews document the story of WSU Vancouver's beginnings as seen through the memories of these seventeen people: Al Bauer, Scott Campbell, George Condon, Ann Daley, Hal Dengerink, Steve Hornenstein, Myrna Howard, Earl "Joe" Johnson, Joe King, Val Ogden, Bob Schafer, Gay Selby, Sam Smith, Joe Tanner, Paddy Tillett, John White and George Condon.
Audio files reside in the physical archive on compact disc in WAV format. A paper transcript of each interview is included. Digital access is available through the Library's digital collections.

Biographical/Historical note
The WSU Vancouver Oral History Project was one of several projects celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Washington State University Vancouver. Co-investigators Sisilla Carpenter and McKenzie Cullen, WSU Vancouver history graduate students in 2010, interviewed seventeen people involved in the early development of the campus. The students were assisted with transcription by former WSU Vancouver history graduate student Melissa Williams, and supervised by Professor of History Laurie Mercier.

Abstract
The collection includes 17 oral history interviews conducted in 2010 for the 20th Anniversary of WSU Vancouver. The interviewees are recognized as "Pioneers" who took part in the founding and development of WSU Vancouver. Participants include advisory council members, members from the local business community, state legislators, university administrators and others. Includes both the audio files and printed transcripts of the interviews. Original Accession (WSUV.2013.001).
Arrangement note
The collection is arranged in the order the interviews were received by the Archives. Audio files of the 17 interviews are on individual CDs in separate folders with a printed transcript.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The project was directed by the History Department under the guidance of Dr. Laurie Mercier. Files were transferred to the Archives by Dr. Laurie Mercier and Lynn Valenter, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Operations.
